Baseline IT was started in 2007 by Darren Hemphill and Philip Slimowitz to address a desperate need in South Africa. The SME market, which contributes around 40% of GDP, was not being allowed to perform to their full potential because of a lack of high quality, low cost and well supported technology. Constantly SME’s were frustrated with outdated technology, high IT infrastructure costs, slow support response times and worst of all, when their “IT guy” went on holiday.
We always ask ourselves, why can’t the SME get access to support immediately, like a corporate can? Why can’t they have fail-over 3G routing to remain online when Telkom goes down. Why can’t they have full off-site backup coverage of every machine on their network?
